FLASHA has had concerns over the use of Third Party Administrators (TPAs) for therapy services by Medicaid MMAs (including Sunshine, Humana, Aetna Better Health, Molina) for many years. Additionally, many FLASHA membershave expressedtheir concerns over TPAs including ATA/HN1.The attached letter serves as a summary of those concerns.This letter has been sent to Beth Kidder, Agency for Healthcare Administration, Division of Medicaid as well as the Secretary for the Agency for Healthcare Administration, Mary C. Mayhew.
In June, representatives from FLASHA met in Orlando with representatives from the Florida Occupational Therapy Association, (FOTA) Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA) and the Alliance for Pediatric Therapies. All Associations present expressed concerns about the use of TPAs with therapy services including ATA/HN1, and all agreed to sign the attached letter.
