Job Description:
The Pediatric Speech Language Pathologists' function is to perform a thorough evaluation of patients assigned to them, and to establish goals and plan of care to meet the needs of said patients as outlined in the Rehab Services Department's Policy and Procedures Manuals and to delegate responsibilities as permissible by Law in accordance with ASHA guidelines and JCHO requirements to other speech language pathologists.
Essential Duties:
- Must be able to assess patients from birth on for speech language, communications, swallowing disabilities and formulate remedial action plans.
- Must be able to keep accurate records of the patient's treatment, reactions and assessment of progress.
- Must possess the ability to coordinate patient care assignments to ensure continuity, appropriate level of care, and maximum utilization of clinical/license supportive personnel.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association with a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Strong preference for an individual with a current certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) in speech language pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
- License or eligible for Licensure (temporary license in hand) as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Florida
- Must be a Pediatric SLP with previous outpatient experience
- Must hold current American Heart CPR certification

Lee Memorial Health System seeks a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for our new outpatient pediatric clinic in north Naples. This role is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of functional impairment in accordance with standards of the profession as delineated in state practice act, regulatory and accrediting agencies and guide practice. This role is also responsible for communicating with patients and other team members and appropriate authorized parties including but not limited to case managers, physicians, and payors. This position is located at an out-patient pediatric rehabilitation clinic in Naples, Florida.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Speech Pathology
- Florida State Licensure
- Minimum of 2-years pediatric experience
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing speech therapy assessment, consultation, and treatment in an outpatient community clinic. Assessments will include comprehensive speech language assessments, dysphagia and swallowing assessment, augmentative communication assessments, and social security evaluations related to communication function. Treatment will include 1:1 intervention in clinic and in the appropriate environmental setting, client and/or caregiver education, and ongoing monitoring of SLP home programs. This position offers the opportunity to engage in research and program development related to communication, management of feeding and swallowing disorders, and social skills programs.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide assessment, evaluation, and consultation to a diverse client population
- Provide 1:1 treatment intervention with clients in both clinical and natural treatment settings
- Collaborate with other AHWI team members (e.g., psychologist, behavioral specialist, occupational therapist, physical therapist) as clinically indicated
- Participate in research and grant proposals that are in line with personal and professional interests
- Perform ongoing self-monitoring to promote performance improvement, growth, and development
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Master’s degree or higher in from an accredited speech language pathology program
- Active and current FL license in field of practice
- Experience in administering person-centered assessment and evaluations
- Familiarity with administration of standardized speech therapy assessment tools
- Understanding of the process and implementation of evidence-based practice
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, evaluation and assessment findings
