Clinical Instructor
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida invites applications for a faculty position intended to continue its clinical service delivery, community outreach, educational, and research agenda in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT). This position is a 12-month, grant-funded, clinical instructor position to begin August, 2008. Successful candidates will work within the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) Atlantic Region Assistive Technology Demonstration Center (ARDC) housed in the Communication Disorders Clinic.
This position vacancy is for one full-time clinical instructor or two part-time clinical instructors. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in speech-language pathology or a related discipline from an accredited institution, a minimum of five years of clinical experience across the scope of practice with an emphasis in AAC/AT, and eligibility for Florida state licensure. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed extensive practice and continuing education in AAC/AT, hold CCC-SLP, have supervisory experience, and are seeking full-time employment. Duties include overseeing the continued development of a comprehensive practice in AAC/AT, including diagnostic evaluations and treatment of children and adults; developing community outreach activities; supervising students; assisting with AAC- and AT- related course activities; participating in state-level FAAST activities; collaborating with an interdisciplinary team; administrative tasks; and contributing to the development of the FAAST ARDC and Communication Disorders Clinic. Additional teaching and clinical practice activities are also possible. Some weekend and evening supervision and service delivery will be required.

Independent Living, Inc.- Pediatrics (ILI) currently has several positions available. We are interviewing for Pasco County School District and Miami-Dade County School District! Therapists must have pediatric experience and be familiar with school system paperwork including writing IEP's, educationally relevant therapy and participating on an evaluation team.
ILI is also looking for a full-time or part-time experienced pediatric speech language pathologists in the areas of feeding, articulation/language, fluency, augmentative communication and other specialty areas to work in the home, clinic, daycare and/or school setting in S. St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Clearwater, New Port Richey, Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Bradenton, Sarasota and surrounding areas. Therapists at our company enjoy a fun and flexible work environment and possibly four day work weeks. The caseload consists of a variety of delays, disorders and syndromes in the pediatric population. ILI is the largest Early Intervention provider in area. We also have a large population of school age children and work with Medwaiver clients (disabled adults 21 years and older). There are several large NICU units in the area with many infants needing feeding therapy. ILI has become a leader in providing this important therapy to infants and their families. We currently have a mentorship program available for SLP’s interested in expanding their knowledge of pediatric feeding therapy. We offer Vital Stim therapy, Therapeutic Listening Program and Interactive metronome in our outpatient clinic. We are also interested in therapists looking for PRN, part-time or contract work. Our staff SLP’s are willing to mentor new graduates interested in working with pediatrics.
